The Old Imari Solid Gold Band Lurcher, extends Royal Crown Derby’s popular collection of SGB Paperweights which includes the highly sought-after Butterfly and Seahorse. Carmen Roome has skilfully designed this stunning piece to compliment the wider collection by using the well-known Old Imari pattern around the base. Elsewhere on the piece, Carmen has delved into the Royal Crown Derby archive and has used a lesser known version of the pattern which has elaborate red florals and pointed wispy gold leaves. The leaf detail has been used to depict the dog’s fur and ears, creating a sense of athleticism and alertness, traditional attributes of the ultimate country dwellers companion. Cobalt blue and iron red are delicately used throughout, subtly highlighting features such as the dogs eyes and coat stitching. These vibrant colours when combined with the hand applied 22ct gold create the visual drama that is synonymous with the historic Solid Gold Band pattern. HANDLING GUIDANCE Handle all items with care.
